FRASER GEORGE WILLIAMS
August 3, 1945 - April 28, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of our father, grandfather, friend, and beloved husband, whose sudden passing has left us lost. He passed away on April 28 at Health Sciences Centre under the wonderful care of the staff on ward GD2.
He met his wife Peggy-Ann in 1969 and they married in January of 1971 and raised two wonderful daughters: Melody and Alexis. Fraser is survived by his wife Peggy-Ann, of 51 years, daughter Melody (son Owen Fraser), Alexis (Colin Botkin), their daughter Maevis Ann and son Arthur David.
A private family viewing was held on May 1 and cremation has taken place. A celebration will be held at a later date so friends can gather to remember him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Health Sciences Centre at hscfoundation.mb.ca
Friends and family are invited to share memories by visiting Fraser's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Hi Peggy, Thank you for the call to let Mike and myself know about Fraser. So saddened to hear that he passed. I hope you all are doing okay. I have very fond memories of Fraser from going out to Lake of the Woods when you guys rented that beautiful cottage and also working with him. I think Fraser taught me more about construction in the time I worked with him, than I learned my whole time in school. It's helped me out immensely in my life, probably the reason I live in constant renovation mode now lol. My friend Calvin and I reminisce about Fraser from time to time. We're still both in awe of him building a set of basement stairs in about 1/2 an hour with just a circular saw, full dados on the stringers even. Also he gave us quite a chuckle when he closed himself in a room with a paint sprayer to prime the ceiling and walls...no mask of course, when he came out of there he had the whitest smile you've ever seen! One memory that also sticks in my mind was when we were water skiing. My Dad was skiing and he'd wiped out. He was at the rope, but had his skis/legs flipped vertically behind him. He was having trouble trying to pull his legs forward while in the water. This was not long after he'd had a heart attack, of course he wouldn't ask for help, but Fraser recognized that he was in trouble. Fraser ran to the back of the boat, used the engine as a diving board and sprang into the water. He grabbed my Dad and got him straightened out, it was only then I realized how much trouble he was in after seeing how hard he was breathing. Fraser asked me to bring the boat around to them, but I didn't know how to operate it at the time, so instead he brought him to the boat and we got him in. It still took Dad a long time to catch his breath, I think there's a really good chance that Fraser saved his life that day and I am forever grateful. • I was so saddened to hear of Fraser’s passing. He was such an amazingly kind person who never hesitated to help anyone in need. We will never forget his many kindnesses to me and the girls after Andy’s passing. And such a treasured friend to Andy!! He was always so very proud of his family and their accomplishments. The world is a lesser place after the loss of such a larger than life personality. Thinking of your family now and in the time ahead. Sincerely, Josie Walden - Posted by: Josie Walkden (Friend) on: May 20, 2022
