February 9, 1955 - May 17, 2022

It is with great sadness the family of Donald (Don) Stanick, announce his peaceful passing on May 17, 2022, with his loved ones by his side.
Don, or "Donnie" as he was affectionately known by many, was born on February 9, 1955, in Brandon, Manitoba, to Walter and Christina (nee Barber). He was predeceased by his parents; sister-in-law, Cindy; and nephew, Jeffrey.
Don had so many fond memories of growing up in Rapid City, from the one room schoolhouse, being on the farm, making life-long friends, and always having fun along the way. Don had such an ease about him that made everyone instantly love and want to be around him.
Don began working after high school and was known for his stellar work ethic. He was always a valued-employee and made many friends along the way who remained an important part of his life throughout the years.
Don took great pride in his yard and home, enjoyed playing golf and pool with friends, and watching all kinds of sports on TV, and he especially loved going to his grandson Aidan's hockey games.
Don will be greatly missed by his loving partner of 30 years, Cathy; children, Kim, and Robert (Raquel); his precious grandsons, Aidan and Tyler (Becca); and his beloved dog Abby. His brothers, Gerry (Mildred) and Brian; along with numerous nephews, nieces, their children and grandchildren, extended family, and loving friends will miss him greatly and remember him fondly.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude for the amazing care and compassion Don received while in the care of the medical staff at St. Boniface Hospital 6th Floor Medicine and Concordia Urgent Care. With an extra thank you to Dr. Sandip Bhangoo of St. Boniface Hospital for the most gracious and loving care he provided to Don and our family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to CancerCare Manitoba or the Arthritis Society of Canada in Don's memory.
In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be a private graveside service. Thank you to Glen Eden for care of arrangements.
