• I am sorry Heather was taken too soon. You and so many will miss her. Me too. It's hard to explain my feelings about Heather. I had high regard for this diminutive but purposeful woman. I saw her accept extra responsibility..and even though you might think she wouldn't come through, she always did, in her relentless intentious way..like a quiet spirit, going, going, and never disappointing. She enjoyed her career, right up until retirement, only to be given this challenge to face. She didn't complain. We had many discussions about the hurdles she had to jump and scramble over ..but she didn't complain. I wish (selfishly I suppose) that I had had more personal time with Heather. • I had the pleasure of traveling to El Salvador with Heather. We presented to Employers in that country. We shared how non-governmental organizations, government agencies and employers could work collaboratively to (re) employ people who had sustained spinal cord injuries. We had quite the adventure just getting there. Our initial flight was cancelled due to a storm in Texas, so we had to leave the next day. There were many delays and flight interruptions due to the change in travel itineraries. We had no way of contacting our co-workers in El Salvador who where to pick us up at the airport, however they did appear and we got to our destination safely. This is one of many examples of Heather's caring and sharing characteristics and how she made the world a better place through her life long contributions in the social service field. Jillian I am so shocked and sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was so proud of you. I am as well sorry I had lost touch with your Mom.
