MAURICE MARIO ROGER JOSEPH FRECHETTE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice Mario Roger Joseph Frechette on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the age of 56.
Maurice leaves to mourn his loving wife Mabel; four children, Merissa (David), Brendan, Jennika and Adrien; three grandchildren, Serenity, Mira and Baby David; mom Jeannette Viallet-Girardin; stepdad Leonard; siblings, Richard (Lisa), Suzanne and Ron (Trish); mother-in-law Edna Blais; in-laws, Giselle, Armand, Bruce, Brenda and Harvey; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Maurice was predeceased by his dad Gerard Frechette and brothers-in-law, Louis, Kelvin and Mark as well as his beloved nephew Jacob.
Maurice was born and raised in Winnipeg and from a young age was passionate about sports. He played hockey for many years as a kid and was a big Jets fan. Maurice was also a huge Bomber fan and a season ticket holder for many years. He was a hard worker, employed at DeFehr Furniture for over 25 years before the cancer diagnosis made it impossible. Maurice will always be remembered as a loving family man, a proud papa to his three precious grandchildren and the glue that held them all together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral will be held on Friday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler, viewing 30 minutes prior to service.

  • It is with great sadness that we are sending our deepest condolences. Throughout Maurice's battle he still kept the faith and a smile on his face. Although my husband & I moved to Alberta over 15 years ago, the beauty of Facebook kept our ties close. We messaged often & when I sent my last message...even though he could not physically respone, Mabel read my message to him & responded back. No matter the distance the love for family is always near & in your heart ♥ Maurice may your soul Rest in peace. Sending love also to Auntie Jeanette, Leonard, Suzanne, Richard & Ron. • Dear Mabel & family, Maurice was a one of a kind person. Loving & easy going with a ready smile even when his pain was great, still loving life & willing to sing with his sister all the while remembering those good young years with his siblings. He loved nature and his garden patch at his mom's home, your closest to God in a garden than anywhere else on this earth. Maurice will be missed by his friends & most of all by those who loved him. Our Deepest Sympathy to the family. Still sending prayers & love. We will all meet again when the time comes for us to leave this earth and go home to our Heavenly Father.
