DAVID BRUCE ROBSON

With deep sorrow and endless love, we announce the passing of David Bruce Robson on May 31, 2022 at the age of 69. Dave passed unexpectedly following an extended, though strong-willed, battle with chronic kidney disease.
Left to honour his life is his wife of 47 years, Susan; sons, Trevor (Nancy) and Kevin (Jonathan); brother Gary (Heather); and sisters, Wendy, Kerry, and Jan. He was also a beloved friend, uncle, and brother-in-law to his vast extended family. Dave was predeceased by his mother Jean; father Glen; and his eldest sister Pat.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dave loved adventure, had an early passion for cars, and always enjoyed getting his hands dirty. Dave completed his education to become a mechanic at Red River College, the trade in which he was employed all of his working life. Despite being diagnosed with kidney disease at an early age, Dave continued to find joy by raising his family, cheering on his favourite sports teams and tackling household projects - he had a tool for everything! For those that knew him, Dave is remembered for his unwavering perseverance, patient nature, positivity, and his endless bank of dad-jokes.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Braun and the transplant clinic at Health Sciences Centre for the care they provided over the years.
As per Dave's wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will occur with family and friends.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • So sad to read of Dave's passing. Dave and I worked together at K-mart (River East) in the Auto department and that is going back some years! I remember his Mom & Dad would drop by for coffee and a visit often. Dave was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed and customers would always ask for him to work on their vehicles. My deepest condolences to the Robson family during this difficult time. - Posted by: Deb Guthrie (nee Palmer) (Work Colleague) on: Jul 07, 2022

  • Like Chris, I didn’t know Dave personally. But knowing his wonderful son Kevin, I’m confident that Kevin gets some of his warmth and love from his father. They both have a welcoming smile that draws you in. My condolences to the entire Robson family. - Posted by: Doreen Pendgracs (Extended Family) on: Jun 14, 2022

  • So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I have lots of fond memories with Dave from childhood at Betty and Don’s. Be assured of our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Greg Costen (Cousin) on: Jun 10, 2022

  • I remember Dave and the entire Robson family from early days on McCalman Ave. My condolences to the entire wonderful family.. - Posted by: Gay Leonard (Childhood neighbour) on: Jun 09, 2022

  • Although I didn’t know David personally, I can say he raised an amazing family. Your sons have hearts of gold and go above and beyond to help anyone in need. They’re so great full to have had you as a dad. “Always a smile, instead of a frown, always a hand, when one is down. Always true, thoughtful and kind, wonderful memories you left behind.” - Posted by: Chris (Friend ) on: Jun 04, 2022
