MARCELLA CAVERS
On May 22, 2022, we lost our beloved mother, Marcella Laverne Cavers.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Karen Hunter (Robert Bean) and Glenda Cavers (Grant Smerchanski); and her grandchildren, Kristin and Derek Smerchanski.
Mom is now re-united with her beloved husband Ed; her parents, Laura and George Fielding; and many extended family and friends.
Mom was born April 29, 1929, in Virden and grew up in Maryfield, Saskatchewan. Her family moved to Winnipeg when she was 12 years old. Mom lived in east Transcona for many years before moving to St Michael's Villa, where she made many friends and enjoyed all the social activities.
A special thank you to the very dedicated, exceptional nurses and health care aides at Concordia Place. Sherry, you were always Mom's wonderful angel. Also, thanks to Dr. Dennis Caners for the decades of excellent care he provided to Mom.
In accordance with Marcella's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
Flowers are gratefully declined.

My family lived next to Marcella and Ed for my whole life almost. Although it's been quite a few years since she sold the house, she still holds a special place in our hearts. She was like a pseudo grandma for my sister and I. We will miss her a lot. - Posted by: Krystl Cooper (Next door neighbor) on: Nov 10, 2022

Mrs. Cavers was a dear friend to Colin’s mother, Leda Smith. We very much enjoyed taking Leda to visit Mrs. Cavers and staying for tea and delicious baking. She was a very sweet, kind and gentle soul and she will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family - our deepest condolences for your loss. - Posted by: Sheila and Colin Smith (Family friends) on: Jun 11, 2022

A beautiful tribute to your Mother. You have many similar qualities. I wish I knew her in person but she will always live through you and your family. Let peace be hers now as she is surrounded still by those she loves. - Posted by: Sherry Liley (Friend ) on: Jun 04, 2022

Dear Karen: To your Entire Family and Friends; my sincerest condolences. I remember “growing up” in Transcona and your Mom being very welcoming to all these “kids” coming over and playing; which seemed constantly! She was always so very kind, caring, gentle, warm and lovely! Fondest Memories. Nancy Felbel - Posted by: Nancy Felbel (Childhood Friends) on: Jun 04, 2022
