BRIGDEN: Margaret Brigden passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 with her family by her side. Margaret was born December 26, 1925 in Deloraine Manitoba. She married Stanley Brigden on October 21, 1948 and together they raised five children Kathy (Wilson), Bob (Pat), Barry (Carla), Lori (Rick), Linda (Rory). Over the years Margaret's family grew to include many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and throughout the years Margaret very much enjoyed each and every one of her kids, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren and each of every one of them will always have a special place in their heart for her. Stan and Marg resided and enjoyed their farm in the Napinka community where they worked hard, raised their family and were part of their community and church. In 1992, Stan and Marg built their retirement home in Melita and in doing so became very much part of that community. Stan passed away on April 25, 1996 and Marg remained in their home and continued to build a good life on her own in the Melita community where she forged many new friendships. Marg set a very strong example for her family by being independent building a life for herself which always included room for her children and grandchildren which in doing so kept the family close over all those years. She moved to Victoria Landing in Brandon in November 2015, where she started new friendships and built a new life while all the while welcomed the visits from her family to her new home. Some of the loves of Marg's life were birds, flowers, clouds, the stars in the sky, all children, Halloween, backyard picnics, backyard fireworks (NOT), prairie sunsets, a well-stocked freezer full of cookies and treats, laughter and fun, Sunday afternoon drives, Stan was and always remained the love of Marg's life and her family takes great comfort in knowing that they are back together again. Marg will be laid to rest in the Napinka Cemetery in a private graveside ceremony, anyone wishing to donate in memory of Margaret can make donations to the Napinka Cemetery Fund or Melita United Church. The Family would like to express their gratitude to everyone who in whatever way shared in Margaret's life.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Dear Kathy, Wilson and family, I wish to offer my deepest condolences in the passing of your mother. I only met your mom once, when we performed a Tai Chi demo. She was so interested in everything. The strength and energy of her spirit were very visible. You will have so many wonderful memories to cherish. With sympathy, Linda Burnell - Posted by: Linda Burnell (Tai chi friend) on: Jun 27, 2022

  • With much sympathy to Margaret's family. I remember Margaret's dedication and strong support as a 4-H leader many years ago! Her kindness to me, during my time with the program in Melita and others was just her way. Keep your memories close of this great lady. - Posted by: Wendy Bulloch (4-H supporter) on: Jun 19, 2022
