BRIAN HOGBERG, C.A, C.P.A.
January 19, 1947 - June 24, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian, at home in, the wee hours of June 24, at the age of 75.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Diane Paquin; his beloved children, Jessalyn (John), and Larson (Holly); his sister Carole Fingler, her husband Fred and their children. He was predeceased by his brother Gary (Gail).
Brian spent 50 plus years as a practicing Chartered Accountant in public and private practice and was very well respected in that community. He had recently retired and was looking forward to more cruises and trips to Las Vegas and Mexico as well as travelling to the mountains in their motor home. He was particularly looking forward to spending more time at his very favourite place, the cottage in Sioux Narrows that he and Diane had built themselves.
He was a man of many interests and talents, but his greatest joy was the time spent with his family
Our hearts are broken, and he will be greatly missed by all including the family dog Riley.
A private celebration of life will be held.

  • Brian and Dian have been an important part of our lives ever since we sold the bay side of our property to them. We immediately started our amateur building projects. Brian and Diane worked weekends; we had the summer off so our family worked full time. Both men were architects, contractors, and laborers. Brian, careful and methodical, drew up professional looking plans, Dan's were in pencil on a yellow legal pad, but all the buildings are still standing and have hosted many friends and family. Jess and Larson were born and we added spouses and grandchildren, so we ended up a blended summer family and Brian was special to everyone. Cat point will not be the same for any of us, but we will treasure our memories of a good friend and neighbor. - Posted by: The Rice Family (Friends and neighbors) on: Jul 08, 2022

  • We join with Diane's family grieving the unexpected passing of Brian. May he rest in Peace. We offer our sincere sympathies and condolences for the loss to his family of a man who accomplished much in his life as a father, brother, uncle and in his profession working in the service of his clients. We will make an In Memoriam donation in his honour to Health Sciences research and care. Ron & Clara Paquin Kingston, Ontario - Posted by: Ronald N. Paquin (Cousin of Diane Paquin ) on: Jul 04, 2022

  • Still cannot believe Brian's gone. Colleen & I went to check your place in S.N. after I said " let's go check Brian's place out". So many memories we have shared here, the fishing, the dinners, the comradery, Jess & Larson growing up. I promised Brian we would get out fishing together this summer as we both enjoyed the conversations we had out on the lake. And the funny experiences we both shared when fishing. I still laugh at your pelican story, plus " The Griswold" adventures. We will miss you a lot buddy. We will toast you every night we sit on the dock watching the sunset. HERE'S TO BRIAN" - Posted by: Robert Law (Very good friend) on: Jul 02, 2022

  • I am very sorry to hear of Brian’s passing, thoughts are with you. I never looked forward to tax time until Brian became my accountant because so loved his great sense of humour. He will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. - Posted by: Tiana (Client) on: Jul 02, 2022
