IRMGRIED ELSNER
1935 - 2022

Irmgried (Rudow) Elsner, our Mama and Oma, left us on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 8:25 a.m. at the Golden Door in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She surprised us!! We will deeply miss her regular phone calls and her "just checking in" conversations ending with "everything O.K. on this side".
Irmgried was born on June 4, 1935, in Birkholz, Germany. She married Horst in 1953. They started raising their family of three in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1962. Once established in their new country, they preceded to raise their now expanded family of four children.
Irmgried was predeceased by her husband of 62 years (Horst). She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Renate (Jim S.), Brigitte (Terry), Günter (Joan), and Inge (Derrick); grandchildren: Joshawa (Jessica), Terry T (Andrea), Jeremy (Sam), James F., Brigitte J. (Derek), Dustin (Tracey), Katrina and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Justice (predeceased), Tye, Terry, Daniel, Tyson and Birdie; great-great-grandchildren: Alexandria (Tye and Cassidy) and another great-granddaughter soon to be born (Dustin and Tracey) and many nieces and nephews in Germany.
Our family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the wonderful care given to our Mama by the staff at the Golden Door.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.

Irmgried contended with both osteo-arthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. She battled through these adversities with resilience and perseverance.
