This kind soul very peacefully departed from us on Monday, July 11, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Indumati; Kalyani (Ruth) and extended family internationally.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, he grew up between East Africa and the UK. He then resided in Winnipeg. He graduated as a Barrister at Law from Lincolns Inn, London, UK in 1958. Hasmukh was enrolled as a Barrister to The High Court of Justice, London and later became a Magistrate. He worked with H Pawley QC and J Walker QC in the Intertlake area for decades.
He lovingly nurtured his family and the entire South Asian community in Winnipeg for decades, even into his last month.
He lives eternally in the hearts of all that he so loved.

  • Dearest Aunty Indu and Kalyani, on behalf of my entire family I extend deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. Uncle Has was a special man with such a noble heart and gentle soul. I have such fond memories of my dad and uncle playing Racquetball and enjoying each other’s company. There was such a brightness that emanated from both of them when they were together. Yaneil, Andrea and I have been so lucky to have had the chance to call him uncle and to know his deep care and concern. Mom too just recently spoke to uncle as he called to check in on her and see how she was doing. He was a man with such great love that over flowed from his heart impacting the entire community. May his journey be reaped with the many rewards he earned during this lifetime and may the ache in your souls lessen knowing that uncle is home. Please take care. - Posted by: Anita Maharaj (Friend ) on: Jul 24, 2022
