September 2, 1947 – July 18, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Elaine on July 18, 2022.
Elaine is survived by her husband Bob of 53 years; two children, Travis (Britt) and Christi; as well as three grandchildren, Alicia, Seth and Eric. She is also survived by her brother Ron Cinch and his family.
Elaine was born on September 2, 1947 in Winnipeg to Mike and Anne Cinch. She graduated from the University of Manitoba and took on a position as a Social Worker with the Province of Manitoba. Subsequently, she worked for the Province in Home Care and the WRHA.
Elaine was an avid runner, having completed 13 marathons and numerous races and was a founding member of the Flavour Buds Running Club. She was passionate about her family, indigenous issues and many charities. Elaine was well liked with a great sense of humour. She enjoyed gardening, hosting dinner parties, travelling the world, loved animals and was proud of her Ukrainian heritage.
The family would like to thank Home Care and Vista Park Lodge for providing such great care and compassion.
At Elaine's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Elaine was not only a great friend but a greater person. We ran many miles together with the Flavourbuds Running Club. Barb and I were privileged to go on two cruises and a trip to Cuba, with Elaine and Bob. Wonderful memories. Elaine….you will be truly missed. May your memory be a blessing. My parents were good friends of Elaine and Bob when I was growing up. Elaine was the most special; I remember her taking me for rides in her red convertible, letting me throw golf balls down their laundry chute when her and Bob would babysit us, I think of how beautiful and comfortable their home was, and spending holidays together.
