EDWARD (ED) SELEWICH
With family by his side, Edward 'Ed' Selewich entered into rest on June 29, 2022 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB.
Edward was born on January 19, 1950 to Martha (Zenchyshyn) and Sam Selewich at the family home in Rossburn, Manitoba.
At a young age, Ed set out in the world to make his mark. Once the family moved to Winnipeg in 1962, Ed attended John M King and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate where he pursued an interest in wrestling. With wrestling, he travelled to many destinations in Canada and the USA and held various Manitoba Wrestling titles.
Ed began his career with the Winnipeg Free Press (WFP) as a 'top notch' paper carrier. In the early 1970s, he worked as a clerk and eventually became a WFP Circulation Zone Manager for the company where he travelled many kilometres across Manitoba. He also worked for the Winnipeg Sun in the advertising department.
These jobs were perfect for the fellow who loved to meet people. He would spend hours on the phone with clients, family and friends til all hours of the night. As an avid radio listener, he would often call up the radio stations to kibbutz with the announcers. Ed was somewhat of an entertainer as he loved to perform karaoke. He was a Jets and Blue Bomber fan, too!
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Martha and Sam. Edward is survived by his children, Denise, Bryan and granddaughter Delainey. He also leaves behind his siblings, Julie (Don), Alison (Mike), Lorne (Pat), twin brother John (Susan), Rick, and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the family plot in the fall.
Donations can be made in memory of Ed to Siloam Mission.
