GILL: Audrey Arlene Gill passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 12, 2022 in Victoria, B.C. Audrey was born in Winnipeg, MB on May 16, 1944 to Kenneth and Coral Miller of Coulter, MB. She moved to Brandon, MB in 1963, where she met her husband to be, Stanley (deceased April 2022). They were married on April 2, 1966 and lived on the farm east of Brandon for 30 years. Together they raised two children, Howard (deceased in 2016) and Carolyn, living in Edmonton, AB. Audrey had great empathy and compassion for people and that showed in her work with not-for-profit charities. She worked for the Canadian Cancer Society for 13 years and then the Multiple Sclerosis Society for 7 years. She was well suited for these positions with her warm, caring, and outgoing personality. Audrey was also a long member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, joining in 1976. While being a member Audrey attended many conventions and held most office positions on the board. She was rightfully honored as Sweetheart Queen and Girl of the Year. In 1996 Stan and Audrey decided it was time for milder winters and they sold the farm and moved to Vancouver Island. Audrey opened a Candy Bouquet store in Duncan, BC and operated that store for several years until they decided to close shop and move to Victoria. Even in Audrey's retirement she was still an active volunteer for various health and seniors' agencies. At Audrey's request no service will be held. Donations in memory can be made to a Charity of your choice.

  • Gail and I met Audrey and Stan through Beta Sigma Phi, to which Gail and Audrey belonged. They were good friends and we were sad to see them go, when they moved in seach of warmer climes. Audrey was a cheerful, energetic, and helpful person; Stan was steady and solid. They will be missed by all who knew them. - Posted by: Ronald Richert (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2022
