DONALD ROBERT WASHINGTON (DON)

WASHINGTON: Donald "Don" Robert Washington passed away December 8, 2021 in his 82nd year. Don was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Will; sisters Gwen, Marion and Pat; brothers Bobbie, Lawrence, Ralph, Ken and Lew. He is survived by his wife Myrna, sister Doris Baker (Craig), brothers Charles (Linda), Jim (Tina), and sisters-in-law Doreen (Ralph), Muriel (Ken), Nicki Chartres and many nieces and nephews. Don grew up in Brandon, then was transferred to many locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Albert and B.C. through his work with MacLeod's and Peavey Mart. He really enjoyed his work and believed his father's theory "that we are here to work hard." Don was active in The Lions Club and many other volunteer activities wherever he lived. Fishing was always Don's favourite activity. He also enjoyed camping, gardening, playing games and cards with family and friends. He was married for fifty-six years and was a great husband and is greatly missed. A private graveside service was held August 19 at Brandon Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at Victoria Inn.
