ARTHUR WILLIAM JOHNS SMYTH
March 20, 1952 - June 20, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Arthur on June 20, 2022 at the age of 70.
Art leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Victoria (nee Brown); and his loving daughters, Hayley and Samantha (Brad German); and his grandchildren, Everett and Theodore.
Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Patricia Smyth; and brothers, Ralph and Eric. Art's only remaining sibling is Dorothy (Missy) residing in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Art will also be sorely missed by his brother-in-law Gary Brown (Valerie) and sister-in-law Frances Mason, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Art spent 35 years proudly serving with the Canadian Armed Forces. Whether in Garrison, on training exercises, or on a UN deployment overseas, he always had a special fondness for the co-workers, soldiers, sailors, and aviators he worked alongside of.

Art was somewhat of a kindred spirit at 17 Wg Food Services. We used to talk about our similar medications and compare notes on our anxieties, and shared many jokes about being on “the crazy train”. We had so many laughs together. He was a mentor to new cooks coming, and helped me understand so much of their world. I lost touch with him after we left Winnipeg, but have thought back on him frequently Over the years. Art, you were always a shining star. Be at peace, my friend. - Posted by: Joanne Spence (Coworker ) on: Sep 16, 2022
