JAMES (JIM) ROBERTSON WILLOX
May 30, 1928 September 4, 2022
Peacefully, James passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge at the age of 94.
He is survived by his children, Ginger (Susan) Kulczycki, Dorothy Shuturma and Jim Willox; their partners, children and grandchildren and his siblings, Joan and Jimmy.
He was predeceased by partner Mary Willox (Kucher); mother Violet Green (Kerr); sister Shirley and sister-in-law Sandy Green.
James was born in Winnipeg and raised by his grandparents, Jessie Buist (Jennings) and James Robertson Willox. James spent most of his working years as a long distance truck driver and retired from Alsips. In his retirement, James enjoyed camping, reading western novels, ten pin bowling, bingo, building airplane models and watching the Blue Bombers and curling.
James had the opportunity to visit family in the UK on two occasions and in his 80s even went on an all-inclusive vacation to Mexico to attend a wedding.
Special thanks to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their love and care. They went above and beyond to provide comfort in his final hours, even playing music for him in his final journey. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Peter Kuegle, James' doctor for decades and thank you to home care, who enabled James to live independently until this spring. We are also grateful for James' friend, Gerard Rossiter, for his care and support through the years.
In keeping with James' wishes, cremation has taken place and ashes will be scattered at a later date.
