MARIA TOTH
July 16,1935 - September 8,2022
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mamusia, Babcia, and Prababcia, on September 8, 2022, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her son Mieczyslaw (Boguslawa), daughters Alicja and Teresa (Krzysztof), grandchildren Anita (Robert), Agata (Jean-Pierre), Artur, Aleksandra, Jessica (Michael), and great-grandchildren Milan, Zofia, Robert Marley, Landon, and Grayson, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Maria was born in Losiacz, Poland, on July 16, 1935, where she was the youngest of five children. After the war, the family moved to Lukowice Brzeskie, Poland. She married Karol in 1954 and had three children. Maria and her young family eventually moved to Brzeg, where she lived until she immigrated to Canada in 1987, settling in Winnipeg.
Mom's small home in Poland had a "revolving" door; everyone was welcome to stay as needed, whether attending a school nearby or visiting the city for a short stay, and of course everyone was well fed. She was an excellent cook and baked the best tortes. She also enjoyed dancing at the Legion. Mom's health slowly deteriorated, and her last year was spent at Holy Family Home. A special thank you to all of the staff on 4-A who provided Maria with excellent care during her time there.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave.
