On September 18, 2022, surrounded by family, Anneliese Baron passed away peacefully, after a short battle with illness at the age of 84.
Anneliese was born in Striegau, West Germany on December 16, 1937. She moved from Germany to Canada in 1956.
Anneliese was predeceased by her parents, Max and Elsie Biebsch; her children, Michael, Veronica and Roland Baldes. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Michael Baldes and Michael Baron and her beloved dog Lady.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Ursula (Joe) Hammermayer; her sons, Mike (Kristal) Baron, Will (Tamara) Baron and daughter-in-law Darlene (Steve) Schilke; her grandchildren, Hailey (Jared) Rodgers, Cloudia Leprieur, Ryan Baldes, Veronica Baldes, Mikey Baron, Morgan Leprieur, Abby Leprieur, McKenzie Baron and Jacob Baron; along with her two great-granddaughters, Blakely and Lennon Rodgers and extended family; niece Angela (Walter) Stripp (sons, Mitchell and Nicholas) and nephew Werner (Snjezana) Hammermayer (daughter Nicole).
Anne and Mike moved from Winnipeg to Thompson, Manitoba in 1968 where they raised their family. They were very involved with the Thompson Lions Club, where they took part in many community initiatives and travelled the world. When they weren't busy travelling, they loved to spend time at their cottage at Paint Lake.
Anne first started working at Woolworth/Walmart in 1979 where she continued until her retirement in Winnipeg. She was also a hairdresser by trade. Anne loved to travel, bake, read her books and spend time with family.
We will be holding a celebration of her life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
