• Mark was a wonderful man who was the epitome of fun. I was fortunate to know him through my brother and be part of the same Jets Season Ticket Pool for nearly a decade …. and also be a fellow runner as part of the Butt Sweat and Tears Relay Team in the Manitoba Marathon where I handed him “the baton.” Mark taught two of my kids to drive and successfully pass their driver’s tests. Truly a genuine person, a friend and in many ways he provided an example of how to live. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. • Count our whole family among the huge numbers who will miss Mark. We grieve for Shannon, Steven, Robyn and their whole family. What a profound loss. Even with all the windows closed in both our homes, we could hear Mark's laugh. It was always welcome. It never got old. We all smiled for the joy of it. Every single time. • I worked with Mark at the Water & Waste Shop in St. Boniface. Mark would be working in the mechanic's shop and his laughter could be heard past the train shop through the carpenter shop into the machine shop and finally into the weld shop. It was like he had his own built in intercom. Always cheerful and always willing to lend a hand. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to all. • Mark was truly a one of a kind person. His personality, laughter, and his LOUD singing will be terribly missed. Mark treated everyone like he would want to be treated with respect. • I knew Mark when he worked in mechanical maintenance at the St. Boniface shop on Plinquet. Mark was competent, patient and occasionally helped out a retired guy who needed a bit of custom fabrication for a car project. I didn’t know that Mark had gone on to become a driving instructor and when I mentioned this to my wife Deborah she declared “He must have been a brave man!” Please cherish your memories of Mark and accept my and Deborah’s sincere condolences.
