DR. AMISH RASIK KARIA M.D.
March 16, 1972 - September 10, 2022

It is with deep regret and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Amish Rasik Karia, at the age of 50 years at home in Winnipeg, with his parents by his side. Amish was born on March 16, 1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Rasikbhai and Urmilaben Karia.
Amish leaves behind his parents, Rasik and Urmila; brother Ameet (Maria) and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Amish attended Allard Primary School, Sansome Middle School and Westwood Collegiate. Academically Amish was blessed. In high school, he was in the International Baccalaureate program. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba in 1996, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 2000, his diploma in Acupuncture at the University of Miami and his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2010. Amish completed residency at Albany Medical College at Albany Medical Center in 2016 and specialized in Psychiatry. He received National Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and was employed by Texas Health Resources. He was living and practicing medicine in Dallas, Texas until 2021.
Amish was extremely hard working and intelligent, holding numerous medical credentials, with the aspirations of opening his own medical practice. Amish was a great role model, son, brother, friend and the kindest person you could ever know. Amish loved his life. He had many friends which, with his family, were the pillars of his life.
We pray to the Lord to rest his departed soul in eternal peace and give the family the strength and courage to bear the loss.
Amish's funeral has taken place and the family appreciates all who were able to attend in person or online.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donating to a charity of your choice.

  • Just found out after not hearing from him for awhile. Amish was the greatest friend one could have--funny, quirky, smart, full of good advice. He was always genuinely concerned about his friends and wanted the best for everyone in his life. I will carry his memory with me for as long as I live. This is a devastating loss for all who knew him. Amish, I wish we all had more time with you. I love you and hope we meet again one day. PS, everytime I hear a cheesy song from the '80s, I will be thinking of you and singing and rocking out a little bit harder in your honor. You will be remembered forever. - Posted by: Beth (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2022

  • My sincerest condolences to Amish’s parents, his dear brother and family. I lost a brother in you Amish. You were a genuine friend, a great doctor and an extraordinary role model to all. I think about you every day and see that great big smile of yours when I do. Everyone that knew you, knew of your kindness and sensibility. Your good nature is no doubt a reflection of your loving parents and the wonderful job they did in raising such a gentleman. I miss you Amish, my family misses you but most of all; the world will miss you and the positive impact you made on the lives of so many people. In the words of Emerson, it’s not the length of life but the depth of life. And you lived your life with a heart and mind richer than all I know. Words cannot express my sorrow. Your passing is an immense loss and it will affect me eternally. You will forever live on in my heart and cherished memories. I love you and may you rest in peace brother. “Words are easy, like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find.
