WARREN (JOE) WALTER YAREMA
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and dear friend to many on September 19, 2022 at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg at the age of 83, just one day short of his 84th Birthday.
Dad was born on September 20, 1938 in Toronto, ON. At the age of 2 weeks old, he came to Winnipeg and lived mainly in Winnipeg, MB most of his life.
He was predeceased his wife Joyce of 56 years (2016); mother Katherine (1996); great-grandmother (Baba) Oksana (1982) and great-grandfather (Gida) Theodore (1972).
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving, devoted daughter Veronica (Warren); three granddaughters, Hillary (Mark), Kirstyn (Brent), Julia (Tristen) and four great-grandchildren; his son Warren (Jr.) and his family.
Dad started his career in construction at a young age with expertise in drywall/steel studding and framing. In his early 30s he started employment with the City of Winnipeg and was employed for over 25 years. Dad had a great work ethic and at times worked two jobs to support his family. Dad never really retired (he loved to keep busy) as he worked part-time for B & L Group Homes for over 10 years as a maintenance coordinator till the age of 75.
Dad always found time to spend quality time with his family and doing the hobbies he enjoyed most. Dad loved fishing (receiving many Master Angler awards), nature and spending time at the lake with his family. His love and knowledge of his Ukrainian heritage was vast and he spoke fluent Ukrainian with English as his first language. Sadly when Dad was formally diagnosed with Alzeheimers/Dementia in 2016 and after Moms passing, he then moved into Middlechurch Personal Care Home until his passing.
We would like to thank the Staff at Middlechurch PCH for their excellent care over the years and the compassion during the end of life care. Also, a sincere heartfelt thank you to Father David Kowalski for performing Dad's final Holy Communion. In the final days of Dad life, Veronica his daughter (son-in-law Warren) spent many hours comforting Dad.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of MB or CancerCare MB.
Cremation and a private interment as per Dad's wishes will take place.
Forever in our hearts.
Rest in Eternal Peace Dad.

My condolences to the passing of your father, Joe as I knew him. Joe was a very sweet man who always had a hello and smile for everyone. I knew Joe from playing bingo and keno at the casino. He loved his keno and interacting with all his friends at the casino. He is now at peace with his beloved wife, Joyce. Rest in peace, Joe - Posted by: Theresa Leochko (Friend) on: Oct 01, 2022
