BRONISLAWA (BERNICE) TOMSZAK
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mama, Babcia, on September 27, 2022, at her final home, Extendicare Tuxedo Villa.
She is survived by her three daughters; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. As she kept saying, she is ready to join her husband and only son, who predeceased her.
Mama was born in Poland and arrived in Canada in 1948. Married in 1949 at Holy Ghost Church, where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and Catholic Women's League of Canada. She also belonged to SPK Legion 13, where she volunteered a lot of her time.
Mama loved gardening, cooking, and sitting out in the sunshine. She could make any indoor plant thrive. She and Tata loved vacationing in Banff.
Special thanks to friends Marek, Brenda, and Eveleen for supporting mama in her last few months.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 5, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church.

I absolutely adored Mrs. Tomszak. She had a larger than life personality, great wit, so much kindness, an infectious laugh and was so humble. She was a true family oriented person and that kindness she extended to my Dad his entire life. She helped my grandparents care for him and she always had such love for him. She was also a great friend to my grandparents. They may have been neighbors by chance but they became like family by choice. I remember her always saying with a chuckle that she had bought their condos. I never fully realized what she had meant until my Babcias funeral. She placed her hand on the tombstone and her other hand on the one right behind it and with a sad smile said now we are neighbors forever. I realized finally what she had meant by condo! I think it’s so rare to find friends like that in life. So to neighbors forever may you Rest In Peace and know how loved you are by the Vermeulen Mossakowski family. My most sincere condolences to Chris, Sofie, Wanda and families. She was truly one of a kind. - Posted by: Rhiannon Vermeulen Mossakowski (Family friend) on: Oct 07, 2022

It was always pleasure to speak with her on the phone. Ciocia Bronia had a loving heart, sharp working brain, good memory and a great sense of humor. I will miss our chats. Deepest condolences from me and family in Poland. Niech odpoczywa w Pokoju . - Posted by: Beata Pielach (Family member) on: Oct 05, 2022

Dear Family, your Mom and Dad were the best neighbours we ever had, living on McMillan. Right from the start, they welcomed us. And as our two sons were born, your Mom looked after them on several occasions. As a toddler, Connor 'helped' your Dad with some project and got to hold a hammer and forever after your Mom greeted Connor with 'hammer, hammer'. My other son Evan was born on her birthday and even once they had moved away, either she called or we called to wish a happy birthday to her and Evan. And I will always remember her laugh and her gravelly voice - especially when she was trying to shoo the crows away with her broom 'Shoo SHoo! So much kindness and care - your Mom was so generous. I will miss her very much. - Posted by: Kelley Fry (neighbour on McMillan) on: Oct 03, 2022
