PAGE: On August 29, 2022, Scott Allen Howard, while watching his favourite fishing show on TV, made his journey to Heaven's Fishing Hole while residing at Fairview Care Home. Scott fought a brave battle with poems syndrome which he diagnosed with in Spring of 2019. He endured radiation and chemotherapy and the loos of his mobility with courage and little complaint. He was always grateful for his best friend and love, Crystal who stayed by his side until the end, bringing him steak dinners prepared for him by his father Rene and Roz hiss partner. He was a very simple man and enjoyed the little things, like a phone call or gifts or visits from his children, grandchildren, family and friends, a hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer and anything including peanut butter Reese's candy or joking around to make you smile. He also had a love of pets, dogs and cats alike and enjoyed bird and squirrel watching. Scott as stubborn as he could be, loved to learn things and hard way and from stories he and his family have shared, that started from a young age. He was affectionately known as the "Middle Page" by his siblings Amber and Darian. They made many wonderful memories together as children with their parents camping, bike riding and spending time with the many dogs his mother Kathy bred for showing. He was the father to seven beautiful children and grandpa to four adorable grandchildren. He cherished every one of them. He stated working at the age of 15 in the roofing and construction industry. He held many different positions over the years, starting in Brandon, MB, Moosomin, SK and Yorkton, SK. Often in Brandon, he would point out proudly roofing jobs he had a hand in. Scott did not want a funeral at his request. He has been cremated and will have his ashes spread at his favourite fishing spots. The family would like to thank all his medical team in Brandon and Winnipeg for his care. Fairview staff as well with his care and comfort. If you wish to donate in memory of Scott, please donate to the Cancer Care society or your local animal rescue.

Gone Fishing

I'm Gone fishing up to heaven, heard the fishing there is great,
I hope to catch the big one, I'm excited I can't wait,
Brought my tackle, rod and bait, just have to find my spot,
The sun it beams so brightly, I hope it's not too hot!

Please don't shed too many tears, or miss me because I've gone
Just remember all our memories, to help carry you along.
I'm grateful for the time we had, but I really had to go,
My Mom & the Ol'bird were waiting so I had to hit the road!

Please know I am always with you, I loved you all so much,
Don't forget our fishing trips, and our special fishing spots.
And if you're feeling lonely or if you're feeling blue,
Just head to our fishing spot and know I am always there with you.
