Mrs. Ritchie was my Legal Secretarial instructor at Success Commercial College in 1975. When she asked me "Why are you wasting time in this course - you want to change the laws, not fill out mortgages. You're an anarchist... and you like Monty Python, too!" I blinked in disbelief, and replied, "Wot?" Three years later, in 1978, I saw her on the bus, and showed her my Musician's Union card. Mrs. Ritchie told me, "That's the keyboard you should be behind, not a typewriter, because you are a musician." I not only play piano, but also notate music on manuscript paper. I've also done improv from the piano bench...I'm a perfect bitch with perfect pitch! Oh, yes - I have 9 1/2 pages of lawyer jokes. Mrs. Ritchie was a very perceptive and kind woman, and I am grateful for her patience with me. She appreciated my sense of humour. I am saddened to read of the passing of Louise. She was my legal secretary teacher at Success Business College and then at Hallcrest College. She made her courses very interesting drawing from personal experiences. I would like sincerest to extend my condolences to her family. - Posted by: Debbie McLeod (Student) on: Oct 22, 2022
