MARIAN GENEVIEVE WINDATT
September 23, 1928 – October 9, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Marian Windatt (nee Smith) peacefully in her apartment in Winnipeg.
Left to cherish Marian's memory are son Roger (Janet); grandchildren, Curtis Windatt (Karen), Heather Chemin (AJ), and Meaghan Bullen; great-grandchildren; Jayden, Jace, Aria, and Logan. Marian was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years Gord, her daughter Debby Bullen and her great-granddaughter Abigail Chemin.
Marian was raised in Dugald Manitoba by her loving Mother Christina Smith and moved to Winnipeg at age 13 where she completed her schooling. She worked at MTS where she met and married Gord.
Marian had many friends wherever she went. She was always interested in talking about the others she was with rather than herself, a truly loving and kind woman. Family was very important to her, and she spent much time with all of her children and grandchildren. She was generous, comforting, supportive and accommodating.
Marian and Gord spent over 60 years square and round dancing with their many friends. For Marian the music has stopped but now she will be rejoining Gord so they can dance together forever. Camping was always a big part of their life, first in a tent, then trailer and finally enjoying the comforts of a cottage.
Marian was a very talented seamstress and knitter both for her family and donating decades of knitting to various charities and organizations. She made wedding dresses for both her daughter and daughter-in-law.
Marian spent almost a decade clogging. She was also very involved with a number of charities including 35 blood donations, Meals on Wheels, Manitoba Telethon, was a life member of United Church Women, Sunday School Envelope Secretary, Archive Committee, and Aces group at Westworth Church.
Marian thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years living at The Parkway assisted living where she had her first dishwasher and was no longer on the hook for dinner duty. The friends she had there meant a lot to her.
Marian's Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Avenue at Lanark Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Rev. Dr. Loraine MacKenzie Shepherd presiding.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Marian's name to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
