EDITH IRENE HEGGIE

Peacefully in the early hours of October 29, 2022, Edith Irene Heggie, age 96, passed away after a short battle with liver cancer. She went to be with her husband of 71 years, George, who predeceased her in 2018.
She is survived by her sister Lorraine Meredith; her daughter Pam (Glenn), her grandchildren, Sean (Corrie), their daughter Ruby, Justine (Mark), their daughters, Kensie, Layla and Alex; as well as her son Rick (Bev) and his family.
Mom was born in Winnipeg and spent her childhood and adolescence here. She married Dad in 1947 and they lived in a few places before settling in Oakville, Ontario for the next 12 years. She returned to Winnipeg in 1969 where her and Dad built a lovely home and remained there for 49 years. Their life was full of adventure and good friends, finding them in Winnipeg playing golf one day and Peachland, BC picking peaches two days later with friends Jim and Dawn. Their travels took them from PEI to BC for many years and many friends were made along the way. Mom and I spent many hours together over the last year including the Friday afternoon Happy Hour spent with the many friends she had made where she was presently living.
There will be no funeral at her request.
