June 9, 1964 - November 4, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Rui Manuel Carreiro Augusto on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Rui was predeceased by his father Serafim in 1998. Grandparents, niece Nancy, brother-in-law Ken and nephew Andrew.
Left to mourn his passing his Wife Janice, Son Tyler (Meghan), Daughter Renée. His Mother Irene, siblings: Elisabete (Dinarte), Mario, Maria, Luis, Adelia. Mother-in-law Marion, sister-in-law Kim (Larry), brother-in-law Wayne (Cory). Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rui was born in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Açores on June 9, 1964 and immigrated to Canada at age 7 with his family. He attended school in Winnipeg and graduated from Tec Voc High School, where he met the love of his life Janice 42 years ago and have remained high school sweethearts throughout the years. Upon completing his education, he worked construction and then moved on to the City of Winnipeg Water Works Department. He then left the City to start his own Construction (Concrete) companies through the years to present.
Rui loved his family with his whole heart, they were the center of his universe.
His love for music passed to his son he was so proud of what Tyler has accomplished. Renée was his Pumpkin, his twin. Renée's love for cooking is from her dad. He will live on in his children.
Rui was funny and always the life of the party. He was an honest, hard-working man, a very loving person, always lending a hand to anyone that needed help.
Rui made many life-long friendships thruough the years. He will be forever missed.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1422 Main St. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rui's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
Rest In Peace until we meet again, but for now, Who's the best-looking guy here and tell me why it's me!

I worked for Luie one summer, he taught me alot, very smart and very humble man. I will miss Luie. He loved doing his job. He was the best boss ever. Thanks Luie for the knowledge you gave me.
