• Nellie's daughter, Jackie, and l met when we were in grade 6 and became life-long friends. Jackie used to come with me every summer to my grandmother's in Elphinstone, MB, where we became the girls to be with! We shared many, many fun and exciting times together. When we married in the same year, Jackie and Syd moved east and my husband and l moved west. We managed to connect on many occasions. I will always remember Nellie's smile and kind ways. • I met Nellie in 2002 when I started spending summers at West Hawk Lake. We were in a group of ladies who glued and my husband and I played bridge in a Thursday afternoon bridge group in the restaurant at Falcon Lake Golf Course. She was such a sweet woman. She reminded me of my baba, my grandmother. They were of the same stature and looks. • Our sincere condolences to Nellie’s family on the passing of one of the kindest & dearest friend we’ve had the pleasure of knowing for over 30 years. Nellie welcomed us into her home soon after we met in Falcon Lake & we enjoyed many meals & good times together with her & late husband, Johnny. Fond memories will keep Nellie close to our hearts. • Nellie was indeed an extraordinary person and a friend for life. We shared many good times from curling and golfing together for years, sharing a glass of wine with a fabulous meal. John and Nellie loved to have friends over to their warm and inviting home. Always making sure everyone was comfortable. Over the years we didn't spend time together, other than the Birthday calls once a year. Nellie was always very positive and full of energy, she enjoyed corresponding with people at various gatherings, you knew exactly where she was from all the laughter, a laugh that I will never forget! Well, my good friend you will always be in my heart. Take your smiles and laughter to share with our loved ones in heaven. You will truly be missed!
