MARCEL A. MOLLOT
March 27, 1940 - November 23, 2022
Peacefully, on November 23, 2022, Dr. Marcel A. Mollot passed away in his home, surrounded by family, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Marcel loved and was loved by his devoted wife, Louise, of 59 years; children, Roland, Michelle (Mark), Yvette (Alain), Roger (Pauline); and his grandchildren, Liam, Emma, Grace, Arlo, and Josée.
Raised in Starbuck, Manitoba, Marcel moved to Winnipeg to pursue his studies in dentistry, graduating in 1963. He started his practice and touched many people's lives during his 34 years of service. His commitment to his patients and staff and his integrity as a businessman were extraordinary. Consequently, he was a positive example and role model for his family and friends.
Marcel was generous and actively involved in his community, sharing his time and resources. He volunteered as a coach for his children's sports teams, was involved in church activities, and was an active member of the church choir for 35 years. In addition, he was a longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus. Marcel was especially kind to many friends and family members who needed his support, including his cousin Ray, whom he had cared for over 30 years.
Marcel was a very active man who loved golfing, biking, curling, pickleball, and skiing. He travelled across North America, Europe, and Asia with Louise and their many friends and enjoyed many memorable family holidays. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother Rene and his sons, Roland and Roger. Marcel was very close to his brother Rene - sharing many adventures over the years, always laughing heartily, and working hard to stay awake on their long drives home.
Marcel's love of food, cooking, and gardening has inspired his family to enjoy creating good food and eating together. He was fond of family celebrations, especially at the cottage. Bacon and eggs on the deck, his famous ribs, Caesar salad, and prime rib were among his specialties. The cottage was a sacred space for Marcel, rich in memories with friends and family. Summers at the cottage included warm memories of games, reading to his grandchildren, playing Charades, and blueberry picking.
Through the years, Marcel and Louise developed a close circle of friends. Together they enjoyed travel, sports activities, theatre, celebrations, and church events. They supported each other through good times and bad, especially with laughter. It was inspiring to see the love and support that Marcel's friends and family provided during his illness.
Mass of the Resurrection will be on November 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2400 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
Special thanks to Fr. Eric Giddins for his compassion and care and to all the people that supported Marcel and his family during this difficult time.
In the spirit of Marcel's generosity, donations can be made to Siloam Mission or Rossbrook House in lieu of flowers.

Louise, to you and all the family my sincere condolences over Mar's death. It just seems like yesterday when he opened his practice and served all our family with you running the front desk until retirement. Then too when you used to rent at Falcon as the family grew until you had your own place on the lake. So many memories you will treasure now he has gone home to the Lord. May you have the special graces you need during this sad time. May he rest in peace. Well done good and faithful servant! From all our family, Chris and sons Dave, Richard, and James. - Posted by: Chris Anne Butterill (Friend) on: Nov 30, 2022
I was a patient of Dr. Mollot from the early sixties until he retired. He was always in a good mood, friendly, easy to talk to, and a great dentist. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Brad Rinn (Patient) on: Nov 29, 2022
Such a bright light to all of us, whether friends, patients or golfers. Marcel's generosity I will always appreciate during our first winter away in Arizona. His dentistry was legend and we were fortunate patients. Fun to see Louise there looking after the important things. Our hearts go out to the whole family and especially to Louise. Wonderful picture. Love Bob & Judy. - Posted by: Bob & Judy Baker (Friends) on: Nov 28, 2022
Condolences to Louise and family Good memories from Agnes and (Louis) over many years - Posted by: Agnes St Mars (Friend of Marcel & Louise) on: Nov 28, 2022
Penny and I are shocked and saddened to learn Marcel had died. He was a perpetually happy man with a smile and a twinkle in his eye and while going to the dentist may not be at the top of everyone's highlight-of-the-day list it was always a joy to see him and be treated by him. He was skilled, kind, considerate and truly a master of painless dentistry. We are fortunate to have been his patients. - Posted by: Sheldon and Penny Bowles (Patient ) on: Nov 28, 2022

Louise and family, I am greatly saddened to hear about the loss of Marcel, your treasured husband, father and grandfather. My parents, Nick and Nadine, loved spending time with both of you. Marcel was such a kind and fun-filled spirit who brought so much joy to those who loved him. I cannot imagine what you are all going through. My thoughts are with all of you. - Posted by: Donna Meyer (Family friend) on: Nov 27, 2022
Louise and family, we share our sincere sympathies. - Posted by: Denise & Dana Payment (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2022
After a friend told me the unbelievably good news that he had found a painless dentist, I began seeing Dr. Mollot. His brilliant work lived up to his reputation. When I began discussing my good fortune with another friend, she described the same high standard of care she and her family were receiving. Eventually we asked each other for the names of the dentists we were seeing. There was only one name: Dr. Mollot! I wish I could personally extend my condolences to everyone whose life he improved. Marcel was like a father to my son Mark who deeply appreciated the solid, powerful influence Marcel had on life. - Posted by: Emily Ager (Mother of Marcel’s son in law Mark Ager) on: Nov 26, 2022
We are sorry to learn of Marcel's passing. We always enjoyed playing pickleball with Marcel either at Falcon Lake or Bourkevale. His presence on the courts will be missed. Sincere condolences to Marcel's family in your time of loss and sorrow. - Posted by: Jae & Rhoda Eadie (acquaintance) on: Nov 26, 2022
Carolyn and I had the pleasure and reward, of knowing and being friends, for a good many years with Marcel and Louise. His sudden passing came as a shock to us for he was always a very active person. About a month ago we were attempting to arrange a golf game for the four of us, which always proved to be a most enjoyable outing, and always a memorable event for many different reasons. A recent pain in his back was a problem and had to be attended to. Unfortunately we never had that game as a final golden memory, but we do have many happy memories to cherish for the rest of our lives, and a smile we will never forget. He has left lots of friends with an emptiness, who will miss his congeniality, left many happy and satisfied patients who owe him a debt of gratitude, left a host of parishioners who will miss his regular attendance and volunteer work with the church, and most of all left a family, who became very dependent, and enjoyed his compassion and generosity, which can not be replaced. His work on earth is done so we now ask that he be our guardian angel because there can be no better one and whatever Marcel did he did well. - Posted by: Orville and Carolyn Heschuk (Friends) on: Nov 26, 2022
