DONNA MARLENE COPELAND

The family of Donna Copeland sadly announce her passing on November 17, 2022 at Fred Douglas Lodge, at the age of 86.
Donna was born in East St. Paul MB to Rose Brown, in 1936 and lovingly adopted by Jacob and Murial Copeland.
She was raised in McCreary Manitoba under the shadow of Riding Mountain and would later settle in Winnipeg to raise 5 "wonderful" children with Douglas McCarthy.
Over the years she would build a career as a compassionate care giver working in the homecare industry and was especially proud of her time working with the YWCA.
Her family was very important to her, and she enjoyed any opportunity for get togethers, picnics in Birds Hill Park and Harrison reunions in Balmoral, MB.
Donna was caring and generous, always willing to help out others. She loved music and the arts, enjoying many an outing to the Art Gallery and Rainbow Stage.
Mom will be missed by all her children Greg, Heather, Randy and Charlene. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her parents, her son Bradley Scott McCarthy, her brothers, Gerald and Laird.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care Mom received from the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge Willow Unit.
She will join her parents and sibling in sublime rest in McCreary cemetery.

  • So sorry for your loss Greg, Heather, Randy and Charlene. I will always remember with love the times we came to visit your family in Winnipeg. I also remember coming to visit the family when you lived in Riding Mountain ⛰️ park. I extend my love and prayers to all of you. - Posted by: Julie Reid (Niece ) on: Nov 29, 2022

  • I remember Donna with love and fond memories. As a teen, Donna lived with our family for a year to take her grade 9 in Laurier, going home most weekends. We had a cheap little record player and she introduced me to songs like "I love you a Bushel and a Peck" and many more. She opened up a whole new world of music to me. I'll also always remember how she enjoyed coming to family reunions and visiting with everyone. Murray and I offer our heartfelt condolences to the family. - Posted by: Elaine Wilson (Cousin) on: Nov 27, 2022
