PAUL BZOWY
101 Years
July 14, 1921 – November 24, 2022


With great sadness, we announce Paul Bzowy passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Repos Jolys in St. Pierre, Manitoba. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Paul was born to Petro and Agrypina, July 14, 1921, at the Bzowy Homestead in Tolstoi. He spent his childhood on the farm as the middle child of 11 children. At 14 years old, Paul left the farm to work in many different locations in Manitoba and Northern Ontario, Paul returned to farming in the 1950s, first in Old Kildonan area. He returned to the Bzowy family farm in 1959 with his wife Elaine (nee Strumbisky) and three young children. He mixed farmed there until his retirement in the early 1990s. Both Paul and Elaine were active members of the Tolstoi Seniors Group.
Paul will be dearly missed by his son John (Lynne), daughters Barbara Bilenki (Michael) and Gloria Paziuk (Les), grandchildren Justin (Jessica), Calvin (Mandeep), Brandy (Sean), Sherry (Calvin), Carrianne (Chris), Scott, Kristin (George), great-grandchildren Vivienne, Hemma, Rajan, Seth, Brock, William, Jaclyn, Nicholas and Benjamin, one brother Nick of Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, his wife Elaine (2008), sisters Mary, Anne, Olga, Doris, Verna, Jennie, brothers John, Walter, and Bill, and granddaughter Tammy Pazuik.
Prayers will be held on Friday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. Korban Funeral Chapel. 907 Main St., Winnipeg. Funeral service on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m., Vita Funeral Home, in Vita, Manitoba. Interment at Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, in Tolstoi, Manitoba.
If friends and family so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
A special thank you to the staff at Repos Jolys in St. Pierre and the dedicated team of home care providers that made it possible for Paul to stay on the farm until he was 97 years old.
For those attending, face masks will be required for both services.
