JACQUELINE KOWPAK
(nee RALKIE)

June 24, 1938 – December 3, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mom (mother-in-law) at the age of 84 at Seven Oaks Hospital with family by her side.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Anna and Jack Ralkie, her brother Len Ralkie, husband Mike Kowpak and stillborn son Barry.
She is survived by her two daughters Corinne Kowpak and Donna Sumka, son-in-law Stephen, sister Pat Steer, brother-in-law Dennis Steer, sister-in-law Pauline Ralkie and niece Shannon Blomquist.
She worked at Victory School as a Teacher's Aide for many years and was adored by students and staff.
Mom's greatest pleasure was her family and the wonderful times they enjoyed at the cottage in Sandy Hook.
She was always full of life and had the biggest heart, touching the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was always considerate to others and became a surrogate mother figure to the childhood friends Corinne and I brought home, to this day they still call her mom.
Whether you were a friend, neighbour, contractor, service man or electrician - if you came to Mom's house you were always fed, given a cup of coffee and left with cans of cold Pepsi to drink on a hot summer day. Our mom was a "giver" and never a "taker" always showing appreciation for others.
Mom taught us about love, generosity and compassion. She instilled within us values, pride, dignity, self-worth, respect, the importance of forgiveness and to appreciate what we have.
Throughout your life you sacrificed so much of yourself for your family and never had a moments rest. Now it's your turn to rest in peace.
You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
We would like to thank Dr. Karen Braun for providing Mom with many years of care, compassion and understanding, Dr. Greg Wilson for the medical care provided during Mom's hospitalization, the 5th floor, unit 3 nurses, and health-care aids of Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassion, care, dedication, and support, Father Bohdan Lukie for his love, compassion, friendship, prayer, anointing of the sick and spiritual guidance and Sister Charlene Belay for her friendship, love, dedication and spiritual guidance.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mom's memory to the Lubov Foundation, LUBOV SSMI Foundation, 1085 Main St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9.
