ANTHONY WALTER SKOCHYLAS


It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Anthony Skochylas, 78, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at St. Boniface Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Stella Skochylas; father-in-law Phillip Turkewich and his two brothers-in-law. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Shirley; his children, Michael (Leah), Shelley (Kurt); sister Helen (Basil); grandchildren, Addyson, James, Michael Jr. (Emily, Matthew); his mother-in-law Mary Turkewich; many in laws, nieces and nephews.
Anthony was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and grew up in Homefield, Saskatchewan. In 1963, Tony, his parents and his sister moved to Teulon, Manitoba. Tony worked at CNR as a Locomotive Engineer for 35 years. During retirement, he became very involved with the Holy Eucharist Brotherhood and Holy Eucharist Knights of Columbus. He volunteered countless hours in these organizations. His current passion was in the perogy making group and always looked forward to helping.
Funeral service at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt Street, Monday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m.
