SONIA ADELINE MCLACHLAN

We are very sad to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend on November 24, 2022. Sonia Adeline McLachlan was born on September 4, 1929 to Paul and Justyna (Fanny) Stanlee in Winnipeg. She spent her final days at River East Personal Care Home, with her loving family at her side.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Walter McLachlan; her cherished sons, Gregory and Glenn McLachlan; as well as her best friend and sister, Shirley and brother-in-law Peter Field. Mom will be missed by daughters, Wendy (Lenn) Samborski and Karen (Mark Maryniuk) McLachlan along with a long lineage of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

  • Condolences from former co-workers at Library Media Services in Winnipeg School Division in the LSC Processing Unit from 1974-78. Sonia was fun to work with. She was conscientious and precise. Her sense of humour was always appreciated. May your good memories live on in our hearts for a long time. Rest in peace, dear friend. - Posted by: Gerald R. Brown (co-worker) on: Dec 10, 2022

  • So very sorry to you all for your loss. Sonia was a very passionate person for many reasons…her family, her garden, her friends. Loved spending time with her whether it was over a cup of coffee, going for dinner or to a movie. Her quick wit and sarcasm always brought a smile to all around her. Sonia was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. - Posted by: Wendy Caron (Friend of the family ) on: Dec 10, 2022
