SONJA LUBA INGRAM
(nee CHORNEY)

April 6, 1934 - December 11, 2022

Mom passed quietly at Grace Hospital.
She was a very proud woman, and she was also very private. She loved her family immensely. She is survived by her husband Alan. They were married for over 68 years. She is also survived by her eldest daughter Lori Jackman, and her husband Garth, their children: son Andrew Jackman (partner Angelique Dykun), grandchildren, Bella and Sadie, and daughter Lindsay Jackman (partner Jarrett Barber); her youngest daughter Alison Malenchak, her husband Edwin, their daughter Aynsley Chomokovski (husband Patrick Chomokovski) and grandchildren, Everett and Adelaide.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stella and Joseph Chorney, as well as her brother Zane.
In her early years, Mom was very much the fashionista. She was very tall, slim and a rather striking woman. Mom had quite a flair for lavish entertaining and exquisite meals.
Mom was proud of many things in her life, mostly she was proud to be Ukrainian and of her Ukrainian heritage. Mom always spoke fondly of her travels with her dad back to their home country. She had many stories to tell of the Ukrainian past and the lives her family lead in Ukraine
Mom's circle of friends was small but always very close, many of her friendships were lifelong. Mom held these friendships dear to her heart.
Mom was an animal lover, her and Dad always had cats for as long as we can remember. From their beloved Valentino, Clementine to Caesar and Beatrice. Mom also always enjoyed getting to know and cuddle her grandpups. She loved those big cuddles from Benson, Molly and Chilli.
Mom was employed as District Manager for Avon Canada for many, many years. She was also a businesswoman and entrepreneur following her Avon career.
She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our condolences to Alison, Edwin & Aynsley & family members on the passing of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother. Alison, you have your mother's eyes & beauty & you too are always 'becoming' in your style & fashion. We appreciated++ your assistance when we volunteered at the school, especially with the photocopier! & your organizational skills that was such a big help to each of us volunteers. While Christmas is supposedly the "happiest time of the year" it is this same Jesus, who was born in a stable, that died on a cruel wooden cross, who rose from the dead & who offers to each one of us the gift of eternal life when we place our faith & trust in Him that we celebrate in a few days. May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, come along side each one of you to bring you His Peace, for He is the Prince of Peace, reassure you of His Love, give you Hope & Grace as you walk through this valley of grief & mourning for a season & even Joy, as you recall memories & share these with each other. Know that you are in our thoughts & prayers. Sincerely, Jeff & Cindy Plett - Posted by: Jeff & Cindy Plett (acquaintances of Alison, Edwin & Aynsley) on: Dec 15, 2022
