HELEN GOBEIL
June 11, 1929 December 8, 2022
On December 8, 2022, at the age of 93, Helen Gobeil (nee Tanasichuk) passed away peacefully while asleep.
She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Jane Alderdice and Darlene Reynolds (Mark). She also will be deeply missed by her favourite grandson Zachary Alderdice.
Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Mervin, as well as her brother Raymond and son-in-law John.
Mom was born in Winnipeg and lived her entire life in Winnipeg. She was proud of her North End roots and graduated from St John's High School.
Mom and Dad enjoyed a wonderful life together. They enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Lester Beach. Mom continued going to the lake enjoying her time there after our Dad passed away in 1996.
Mom enjoyed travelling and gardening but her favourite thing to do was spending time with her favourite grandson going on the bus to the Paddlewheel Restaurant at The Bay for lunch and many sleepovers at her home and the cottage.
We would like to thank Riverview Health Centre Unit D3 for their love, care, and support of our Mom these past two and a half years.
A private family service has been held and interment has taken place at Glen Eden Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. You mom and my mom were such good friends. Mom enjoyed her many trips with Helen. They will both be greatly missed. - Posted by: Jan Winter (Daughter of her friend Vicky Winter) on: Dec 17, 2022

I remember your mother and grandmother when I first worked in Eaton’s Housewares department. Your Mum was one of the first friendly faces I met and who took me under her wing when I knew very little about pots and pans, and sealer rings for the pressure cooker!! While it has been decades since I last saw her, I thought of her from time to time. She was lovely to work with, and was such a big help to me. Please accept my sincere condolences to you all. - Posted by: Scotti Stephen (Former colleague) on: Dec 17, 2022
