WALTER KORKOSH
May 22, 1934 - December 23, 2022

Peacefully with his family by his side, Walter passed away at the age of 88.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Lynne of 58 years; sons, David (Belinda) and Robert (Sandra); his three grandchildren, Ashley, Colin and Riley; sister-in-law Carole deWet; his nieces and nephews, Andy Stolar, Colleen Wilson, Craig (Kathy) Stolar, Jennifer (Barry) Martin and Jason (Jennifer) deWet.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tekla and Peter Korkosh and his sister Jeanette Stolar.
Walter grew up in the north end and attended Faraday, Isaac Newton and Tech Voc schools. Walter worked at Sharpe's Electric for over 30 years and when it closed, he worked a variety of part-time jobs to keep busy.
Walter was an avid tenpin Bowler for over 40 years, with accomplishments that include winning the City Singles Championships as well as representing our province as a bowler. Lots of great friendships were made within the bowling community. Many fun times were had at bowling tournaments, trips and banquets.
Through the years, summers were enjoyed at Grand Beach, Moose Lake, Bird River and Hillside Beach, where he enjoyed time with family and friends.
Walter's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, are available there.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Walter may be made to the charity of your choice.

  • To Lynne and family - I was thinking of you both the other day. So sorry to here that sad news. We will never forget the time I rented the hot tub, Wally came with that huge tie, and how it floated in all the soap suds.
