RANJIT SINGH PANNU
1934 - 2022


Ranjit passed away peacefully at the Deer Lodge Centre on December 28, 2022.
He was born on May 13, 1934 in Hong Kong. He lived through the Second World War under Japanese Occupation. He came to Canada in 1958 to attend the University of Manitoba where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education.
He began his teaching career with two years in Pine Falls and transferred to the Winnipeg School Division #1 for 29 years, teaching at Elmwood High School and Hugh John MacDonald Junior High. He taught mostly biology and general Science.
Ranjit was predeceased by his parents, Kandhara Singh and Tej Kaur in India. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol; his four sons, Deljit, Hardev, Biljit (Karen), and Amrick; his three granddaughters, Hannah, Zoe, and Jasmine, as well as his two sisters and four brothers.
Cremation has already taken place and as per his instructions, there will be no formal service or interment.
If desired, a donation may be made to Deer Lodge Centre or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
