EVELYN FRANCES PHANEUF

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister Evelyn Frances Phaneuf on December 20, 2022, in Vancouver, BC.
Evelyn fought a hard seven-year battle with PSP (Progressive SupraNuclear Palsy) and will be remembered for her positive outlook and attitude throughout her illness.
Evelyn is survived by her brother Alfred (Anne), sister Elaine (Émile deceased), brothers Marc (Huguette), Paul (Sherry) and Guy (Jennifer). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Pauline and Frank Phaneuf.
Born on February 15, 1954, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Evelyn grew up in Ste-Agathe, MB, graduated high school, and moved to Vancouver in 1976. She enrolled at the University of British Columbia where she graduated witha Bachelor's degree in recreation education in May of 1988. Evelyn was an avid learner and enrolled in many continuing education courses related to her career. She had a passion for teaching LPN courses and spent 20+ years teaching at Stenberg College in the lower mainland.
An avid reader, foodie, and traveler, Evelyn enjoyed experiencing the different sites and restaurants that Vancouver, Europe, Alaska, and the Middle East had to offer. With any spare time, Evelyn would either be visiting with friends at the local pub, working on a puzzle or playing with her two cats.
We would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Broadway Pentecostal Lodge and also the Parkview Residence in Vancouver for the excellent care that she received. At one point Evelyn was cared for by a Nurse that she had actually trained. We teased her that if she had any complaints, she only had herself to blame!

Rest in Peace Evelyn...we love you!
