KAREN ALLISON BRENNER
December 22, 1955 - December 16, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Allison Brenner (Olford), on December 16, 2022 .
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Debbie Bjornsson (John), her children, Christine Brenner (Mark), Allison Maki (Jeremy), grandchildren, Amber Greeley, Kaylee Brenner, Xena Fitkowsky (Michael), Jaden Maki, Alicia Maki and Brooklyn Maki; great-grandchildren, Lily Scott, James Scott, Joel Scott and Carter Brenner, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Karen was predeceased by her loving parents, Sylvia Olford (Willey) and David Olford, her brother Wade Olford and her nephew David Bjornsson.
Karen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 22, 1955. At an early age she discovered her love for baseball. She played in a league for many years in her youth. (Flaming Carrots). Karen had many talents, she was very artistic and creative, she found a passion for making flower arrangements, she entered many contests and won numerous certificates for her work. She later dove into painting Christmas houses, she ended up with an entire village and decorated the living room every year at Christmas with her beautiful art.
Karen took her painting to a new level when she started making fancy Christmas chocolates. She painted many with great detail involving numerous steps before the end result, which was both beautiful and delicious. She spent many weeks each year making chocolates to hand out as gifts to family and friends.
She also loved to garden. She had a beautiful garden that she was very proud of. Karen took a course at Red River Community College called Landscape Technician to further her knowledge in one of her favourite places.
Karen also loved to write poetry, she found it very healing and had a few poems published professionally.
Karen had an amazing group of friends that she loved so much. She really enjoyed her Monday night meetings, and her many outings to see her friends. She recently joined Elmwood East-Kildonan Active Living Centre and was really enjoying getting to know her new group of friends in the neighbourhood.
Karen had a heart of gold and was kind to everyone she has met. She will be deeply missed by all.
Celebration of Life to take place July 2, 2023 in Lac du Bonnet, MB at 70 Wendigo Road at 12:00 p.m. where we will lay her ashes to rest in her very own garden, surrounded by her favourite flowers.

Dana and I were blessed to have Karen in our lives. She had been an employee, a co-worker but most importantly a dear friend. I will miss the monthly shopping trips/dinners we did, your friendship and your smile. We always enjoyed some good laughs. You loved your family so much and I know they will miss you deeply. To all of you Dana and I send our heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Debbie and Dana Nieminen (Friends) on: Jan 14, 2023

I had the priviledge of getting to know Karen briefly and shortly over the past 8 months. I'm honored to say I was able to try some of her beautiful and delicious chocolates. And of course, in Karen style, she sent me home with some for my children too 🥰 Your smile and laugh will be deeply missed. Rest easy, lady. - Posted by: Char (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2023
