WAYNE KENNETH PESTUN
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Wayne Pestun on Friday, January 6, 2023.
Wayne grew up in East Kildonan, actively involved in various sports. Throughout his life, he was an enthusiastic Jets and Bombers fan. He worked as an appraiser, obtained his pilot's licence and acquired his float plane designation. His dedicated career spanned 41 years with the Government of Manitoba as a CPA, primarily as Director with the Department of Families. In addition to being an Accountant, Wayne was a self-taught carpenter, plumber and landscaper, building his own cottage and boathouse at Beresford Lake. Days at the lake were filled with fishing, boating and BBQing. He shared the fruits of his labour with friends and family to enjoy. He married the love of his life, Victoria and they shared 27 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed new adventures exploring the world through travel and socializing with friends and family. Wayne had a zest for life, a kind and gentle spirit, a strong sense of responsibility, a keen intelligence and a witty sense of humour.
He will be remembered by his wife Victoria, family and friends. Wayne lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne proudly celebrated his Ukrainian heritage. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal through Canada-Ukraine Foundation at www.cufoundation.ca
A private family service has taken place.

My condolences to the family of Wayne. We worked together back in the early 80s in Morden and Winkler with the highways deptartment for two summers. We had a heck of a fun time working there together with Fid and Fasto. May your memories be a blessing. R.I.P. Wayne Don Paskaruk - Posted by: Don Paskaruk (Ex Co-worker) on: Jan 25, 2023

Dearest Vicky, and Liz, Bill, Jim and your significant others: Wayne seemed to be such a gentle soul and a man of peace. May God give you comfort at this difficult time. As Fr. Gregory Scratch, priest at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Narol, MB would say, "May what is offered be holy, and may what is broken be healed." And as Brazilian theologian, Leonardo Boff wrote, "We are not born to die; we die to be resurrected!" [Way of the Cross - Way of Justice. (Maryknoll, NY: Orbis Books, 1980. ) p.122. ] May Wayne rest in God's Eternal Memory! Vichnaja Pam'jat'! With Love, Esther Juce & Howard R. Engel - Posted by: Esther Juce & Howard R. Hi Vicky, My condolences go out to you. I have memories of Wayne being the big brother of Janice going up. He would usually be annoyed with us, but sometimes he would annoy Janice, myself and other friends that were with us. Lol! I was so glad to see the connection a few years ago when we saw each other at Costco. Take care! - Posted by: Cheryl Jeffery (Colleague ) on: Jan 21, 2023
