Echoing Louise's memory of it, I too still remember the youth choir trip to Winnipeg in the 70's and your warm welcome. The special Christmas cards Aunt Betty made herself were an annual treat, My condolences to the whole family. - Posted by: Susan Van Winkle (Niece) on: Feb 03, 2023

My condolences to Aunt Betty's family and friends. I would like to share two travel memories. The first was back in the 70s when my sister Susan and I were in the Ontario Youth Choir. Our tour took us for the first time to Winnipeg, and we got special permission to leave the itinerary to spend an evening with Uncle Jack, Aunt Betty and our cousins. They picked us up at the airport and showed us around before going back to the house for dinner. Little did I know that I would get to spend a few years working in Winnipeg in the 80s. The second was a few years ago when Aunt Betty came to Paris with Jackie. What a pleasure to be able to show them around my city - bakeries, markets, cafés, cathedrals, museums and chateaux. Their interest and enthusiasm was contagious. Warm regards to all. - Posted by: Louise Van Winkle (Niece) on: Feb 03, 2023

Condolences on the loss of your mom. I worked with Betty for many years, she was always willing to take on any task. Her laughter and pleasant manner will always be remembered. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Bruce Law (Friend/colleague ) on: Jan 29, 2023

Warm hugs to Jackie, Jennifer, Garret & Jonathan and their families at this difficult time. Betty generously took me into her home when I started to work in Lakeshore School Division in 1998. We stayed friends ever since. That was Betty. She made friends wherever she went. She had a great sense of fun and humour. Never a dull moment with Betty around. I always admired her artistic ability and her way of making others feel special. She will be missed and remembered always. XO Lara - Posted by: Lara Cliffe (Friend ) on: Jan 28, 2023

I met Betty as an infant, our Moms were close friends. Their friendship endured the years, something really wonderful and rare. I can remember Betty and Jack "adopting" me for the summer, always made me feel included and cared for, as I got older, I got the chance to know Betty as a friend also. Such a warm, kind person with a terrific sense of fun, truly an original. My family considers her as one of us, we all love her and the world is a little less bright without her in it. Words are inadequate. Condolences to Jackie, Jennifer, Garrett and Jonathan and all of her family. - Posted by: April Sjoblom (Family friend) on: Jan 21, 2023

Dear Jackie, Jennifer, Garreth and Jonathan; our loving prayers and deepest condolences . Your mom was such a light to me when I first moved to Eriksdale and then became her neighbour. Hours and hours of coffee and laughter. A true gem in my life. May peace be your comfort and loving memories your consolation. Love, Mel and Shane. - Posted by: Melanie Kauppila (Friend and long time neighbours ) on: Jan 21, 2023

When remembering Aunty Betty I think of her laugh, so infectious it would make you laugh even though you didn't know why. Her laugh was easy and generous and made you feel included. Xoxo - Posted by: Erin (Niece) on: Jan 21, 2023
