I worked with Evan at St John’s and when I went in to substitute he had the biggest smile and always had a bear hug for me. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Cathy Bamburak (Worked with Evan @ St John’s ) on: Feb 23, 2023

I first met Evan at his church, Pilgrim Baptist, in 1980. This is where he best expressed his joyful Christian faith, mainly through song. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. The Ukrainian Parents Committee at Ralph Brown School hired him for a time as their bus driver and being young and being Evan, he was a popular with the kids. My condolences to his immediate and extended family. You will miss him terribly. - Posted by: Doug Martindale (friend) on: Feb 12, 2023

My deepest condolences to Evan's family. Take comfort in the memories you have of this kind wonderful man. I had the pleasure of working with Evan for a number of years and was always impressed with his kindness and tremendous patience with both students and his colleagues. He had the gift to connect with his students and get them to do their best. May his soul rest in peace. - Posted by: Dushant Persaud (Friend and colleague) on: Jan 21, 2023
