• Oh, how sorry I am to hear of Guy's passing. My memories of Guy are him and my mom and dad (Marie and Charlie Druwe) and Aunt Nanny & Uncle Arthur, Aunt Rita, Aunt Marie, Aunt Celina & Unle Jules playing 31! I loved listening to them laugh and tell stories about times gone by. I also had many conversations with him about the activities his grand children were involved in. • I had the pleasure of working and coaching with Guy ("Gee") at Grant Park High School from 1980 until his retirement in the early 90's and always enjoyed his company and friendship. His great sense of humour took awhile to figure out but when you did eventually get it, it was golden! He was a great task-master to those athletes whom he coached and I'm sure those athletes would agree. There were many great teacher-coaches who made up the Grant Park sports program at the time and along with Guy, not only did they turn out great athletes but ones who have become great people. Should mention that as a young staff member relatively new to the coaching world, always found him to be an encouraging mentor and great travelling companion with lots of real-world perspective on life and work. I also appreciated that he suffered fools lightly (including students) but was always a champion of the underdog and anyone else dedicated to becoming better at whatever they did. • Ah I loved Mr. Bertholet, he was so funny. Great Track and X-Country coach to so many of us at Grant Park High! He brought his beautiful daughters with him to Florida for our track trip in 1984, I’m sorry for your family’s loss. I remember that to get us to stay in our rooms, Mr. Bertholet and Doc Hunt made up a story that there was an active serial killer operating on the Kissimmee strip. • I was saddened to learn of M. Bertolet's passing. He was my French teacher at HJM during the 60's. He was an excellent teacher and person. He always treated us with respect which inspired many to respond in kind. I have only fond memories of a fine person who helped shape my future.
