MARIO NESCA
Mario Nesca, age 88, passed on January 14, 2023. With great sadness and strength, we honour the legacy of our Father, Husband, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Friend.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Floriano and Mino; his sisters, Franca and Tina; his brothers-in-law, Gianni, Carlo, and Dante; and his parents, Antonio and Maristella. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jenelyn; his four children, Mauro, Tony, Marcello and Stella; his sisters, Italia (Nicola) and Tina (Eusebio) in Torino; his sisters-in-law, Maria and Anna; his many nephews and nieces in Italy whom he loved endlessly; his grandchildren, Shelby, David, Tess, Daniel, Aiden, and Noah; his two great-grandchildren, Johnny and Tianna; along with his countless friends and acquaintances within the Italian and Filipino community across Winnipeg.
Mario was born on August 18, 1934 in San Giorgio, Ionico, Italy. An intelligent and determined man, he forged the path of success for the Nesca family, venturing from a small town in the south of Italy to the north in the auspicious industrial city of Torino. Mario eventually brought his siblings and parents - who were as a result able to create successful and prosperous lives for their growing families. His determination and hard work brought him to Canada in the late 60's where he began to sow the seeds that would later lead his four children and countless others towards their bright futures in North America.
Mario lived a life of strength, ambition, loyalty, and confidence. Mario will forever be remembered for his legacy as a risk taker, an adventurer, a headstrong, and a physically strong leader who amongst all had one purpose in life: to help people. He was and will always be remembered as our fighter, our warrior, and most of all, our Pa.
Our gratitude is extended especially to his wife, Jenelyn for providing Papa with endless love, care, and support. In addition, our thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre.
Noi ti vogliamo bene per sempre Papa.
