Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • Dear Dr Hoffer - I am so sorry for your huge loss. I had no idea till now. I had called your office to let you know about our mom MIA. She actually had an appointment the day I took her to emergency. So I called fast to cancel. Not knowing that the last time would be her last time with you. I'll never be able to thank you for being such a mensch to mom. We loved hearing all your wonderful stories. Or seeing your dogs. Talking about baking. Me trying to bring what I hoped you and your staff would enjoy. Of course I could never measure up to your wife's apple pie. But hopefully you got to take some treats home for you both to enjoy from me. Your compassion understanding was unreal. Taking time to talk with me and even a much needed hug here and there. Though mom was your patient, I was just her daughter bringing her. Mom would say thank you for always helping her I hope she gets to meet Rochelle in heaven, they now can talk about our baking and cooking skills. Plus of course the absolute love of animals that was also shared. Mom and I loved seeing your dog or even a time I believe a grandchild wondering around. But the stories you always had were wonderful!!! I will miss bringing mom in. I'm missing her terribly and really wish I could just call to book her with you now. I know you would as you always did take the best care of her. So from my now angel mom to you and your now angel wife. Looks like we both will have to find a new normal. But you thank goodness have so many more wonderful times ahead so many more memories to make. Plus the animals that will thrive with your love to. Thank you so much I do hope to stop in and hopefully still bring a treat when I'm up to it again. Butter tarts the one thing I make I thought for sure you wouldn't like. Take care keep that wonderful smile you have. Your family friends and patients care and love you. My deepest condolences to all of your family to for there huge loss. • So very sorry to hear of Rochelle's passing. We worked together for her dad for many years. Rochelle was a loving mom to her kids, a fantastic cook and energetic co-worker. I'll never forget her welcoming smile, keen sense of humor and the love of her dogs. Sincerest condolences to Marshall and family and Mr. Oiring. - Posted by: Connie Gratton (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2023

  • Rochelle and I were in the same class in Grade 10 at Grant Park. Many years later, we became Bridge partners, first playing social bridge, then venturing out to the clubs. She was such a caring person, always ensuring that everyone she cared about was looked after. I have always envied the partnership that Marshall and Rochelle built and sustained over the years. May her soul be bound up in the bonds of eternal life, and may her memory be a blessing. - Posted by: Sandy Tapper (friend) on: Jan 28, 2023

  • I loved the stories that Dr Hoffer shared of his wife Rochelle. Her travels, the times with the grandkids and their times together. I didn’t know her, but she definitely put a spark in Marshall’s eye when he shared those stories! I’m so very sorry for your loss Dr Hoffer. I pray your memories help you through this difficult time.
