CONSTANCE ADELE JAMES

Constance Adele James (nee Hollup) passed away in Kildonan Personal Care Home on January 20, 2023.
Adele was born in Kirkfield Park, MB to Helen and John Hollup. She attended Kirkfield Park schools. Adele married Frederick Arthur James in 1944 and together they had two children: Frederick Arthur Jr. and Nancy Adele. She worked as a sample maker seamstress for Peerless garments and enjoyed looking after her beautiful flowers in the yard as well as exercising, swimming and golfing. Her knitting and crocheting were prized by her whole family and many friends. She was also a great cook and dinners at her place were a real treat!
Adele is survived by her granddaughters, Carissa (John) and Kareen (Jeff), and great-granddaughters, Ayla, and Mia. She was predeceased by her husband Fred; sisters, Tilly and Alice; brothers, Ben, Bob, Ted, and Charlie, and daughter Nancy.
A private memorial service for the family will be held in spring of 2023 in a beautiful place in the country as per her wishes.
Adele was a great lover of animals and supporter of the Winnipeg Humane Society, she would have loved memorial donations to be made in her name.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Adele's passing. For some reason, I was thinking about her last week. I remember clearly going to Uncle Fred's and Aunt Adele's house as a child and later on with my mom every time I came to Winnipeg to visit. When my mother went to Montreal to be with my sister when she had a tumor removed, I stayed at Aunt Adele's for about a month, I believe I was 16. I have many memories of Aunt Adele, she was always very kind to me. The last time I saw her was at Uncle Fred's funeral, she told me she didn't expect me to fly in from Ontario but told Uncle Fred I wanted to be there. She was surprised I came. Spent time with her at her house after, we talked and cried. We then spent time at Nancy's who I also hadn't seen for a long time, lots of memories I certainly will miss her Georgina - Posted by: Georgina George, nee James (niece) on: Jan 29, 2023
