On Monday, January 16, 2023, Grant Allan Watt passed away at Fairview Home at the age of 68 years.
Grant was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Bussey and his twin brother George.
Grant is survived by his sister Donna (John) Friesen of Winnipeg and brother Jim (Diana) Watt of Brandon. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends that knew him.
Grant attended Royal Canadian Army Cadets in his teenage years, which ultimately led him to join the Royal Canadian Navy at the early age of 17. His navy career took him to many places such as Borden, ON, Halifax, Portage la Prairie and Victoria, BC, as well as overseas excursions to Denmark, Hawaii and Mexico. Grant was extremely proud to serve in the navy.
In December 1977, Grant was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that changed his life and forced his discharge from the navy. He later began volunteering with Hockey Tournament of Champions, Canada Games and Olympic Curling Trials, which he did for a number of years. He was also extremely proud of his involvement in these events.
Grant will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Oak Lake Cemetery at a later date.
Special thanks to all of the 2nd Floor staff at Fairview Home for their years of caring for Grant.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Donna. & Jim, I’m saddened to hear of Grant’s passing. I have so many good memories of your family. When a bike was needed for a paper route, it was mine given as a replacement. Keep the good memories close and discard the rest. My condolences to you and your families. Jo - Posted by: Joan McKenzie Brown (Old friend) on: Jan 31, 2023
