Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • While growing up, Darlene and Doug Wakefield were my parents’ closest friends. For me, they were every bit as much of an aunt and uncle as my related ones and were bestowed the same titles accordingly. I felt Aunty Darlene’s nurturing care whenever I was injured-which was often due to illness. She was kind and tender but also firm when warranted- usually when I wouldn’t finish my supper, brush my teeth, or quit giggling at bedtime during sleepovers. Also, I witnessed the enduring heartful friendship she shared with my mom. After my mom passed, Aunty Darlene comforted me with fond memories and sage guidance. My love and respect for Auntie Darlene and Uncle Doug have no bounds. My life is richer because of them. Much love to Brenda and Cheryl and the grandkids. - Posted by: Cori Doan (Family friend) on: Jan 30, 2023
