RICHARD BABYNEC
December 16, 1950 - January 20, 2023
Richard passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Richard was the son of Helen and Bernie Babynec, and is survived by his brother Ernie, and his nieces, Anna Ziprick (Jonathan) and Alexandra Haselich (Adam).
Born in WInnipeg, Richard relocated to Regina in 1985 to work as an optician. He was employed for 20 years at Future Vision Optical where he built a loyal following of customers and made many friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him in Regina and in Winnipeg, where he often returned to visit family and friends. Anyone who knew Richard would agree that he was a wonderful person. Kind, thoughtful, with a sharp wit, he was good company, and a person everyone appreciated knowing.
According to Richard's wishes, there will be no service.
Those who wish to make a donation in Richard's name are asked to pick a charity of their choice.

The Wolchock family grew up 2 doors down from the Babynec family on Roch Street by the golf course, along with the Nichols, Macdonald, Gelmych and Campbell families. Although I didn't know Richard very well, his parents Bernie and Helen were lifelong friends of ours. When they had an estate sale after Helen passed away, I dropped in and introduced myself to Richard and he remembered my family well. I wanted to buy a few of Helen's tea cups as keep sakes of our friendship and he insisted I chose whatever I wanted as his thanks for all the good memories, and I have never forgotten his kindness or warm smile. God's speed Richard and say hello to your parents from the entire Wolchock family. - Posted by: Mendy Wolchock Moroz (Former neighbour) on: Apr 22, 2023
